Lotto-Intermarché loses another star after De Lie's departure; NSN strikes

Lennert Van Eetvelt will ride for NSN cycling for the next three seasons. The 25-year-old Belgian came up through the ranks at Lotto-Intermarché, which is now seeing another star rider leave, following Arnaud De Lie. De Lie will join Tudor, while Van Eetvelt will ride for NSN Cycling from 2027.

De Lie and Van Eetvelt are undoubtedly the two big names who have secured victories for Lotto in recent years. In Van Eetvelt’s case, however, it’s been a while since his last win. In 2024, he had another standout year, claiming 6 victories. The UAE Tour was his biggest win that year.

In 2025, Van Eetvelt struggled with a back injury, which prevented him from performing at his best. This year he’s in better shape, but victories have still eluded him. He did finish sixth in the UAE Tour, came close to winning a stage at the Giro d’Italia, and recently took second place in the Arctic Race of Norway.

At NSN, he wants to continue his upward trend and go for more victories—something he is certainly capable of. “Lennert is a rider we’ve been following for a long time, so we’re happy to have signed him,” said team manager Kjell Carlström in an NSN press release.

"Lennert has shown that he can win at the WorldTour level, especially in challenging stage races. We believe he can continue to develop with us. Not only is he a strong climber, but his racing style also stands out. He seizes his opportunities when they arise and can finish the job."

NSN hopes to compete for success in stage races and the Ardennes classics with Van Eetvelt. “I was looking for an international and professional environment to take the next step in my career,” said Van Eetvelt, who calls NSN “a perfect match.”

Why? “I want to win more races, whatever they may be. I know my strengths, and I want to build up the strongest possible track record. I hope to start doing that in 2027, and I’m convinced I’m making the right choice. Together we can win, and I’m really excited to see what we can accomplish together.”
