Marianne Vos will soon be back in the women's peloton. The 38-year-old leader of
Visma | Lease a Bike broke her collarbone during the Vuelta España Femenina in early May and had since gone quiet. But on Tuesday she made her return to social media via her
official channels.
The 2026 season has been anything but straightforward for Vos. On a personal level, she
lost her father after a long illness, forcing her to skip a number of races. Yet in the events she did start, she was remarkably in form throughout.
Her second place at Paris-Roubaix was emotional in every sense — she narrowly missed victory in the days immediately after losing her father.
Visma | Lease a Bike had gone clear with Vos and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, but Franziska Koch of FDJ United-Suez
took the win in the velodrome sprint.

Vos makes her second restart of the season in Spain
A few weeks after her curtailed spring, Vos lined up at the Vuelta España Femenina with ambitions — but things
went wrong from the very first day. Vos crashed inside the final 10km of the opening stage, later confirmed to have broken her collarbone.
Despite the injury, she was able to return to the peloton with help from her teammates and still finished seventh in the uphill sprint. Starting stage 2, however, was not possible.
After the Vuelta, Vos set about her recovery — but she told her followers on Tuesday that she soon headed to Mallorca for three weeks "to grow and to believe." "I can't wait to race again," she wrote.

Vos to return via Catalonia on the way to the Tour de France Femmes
We will see Vos back in action on 19 June, when the women's Volta a Catalunya gets under way in Spain — a three-stage race running from 19 to 21 June. The route travels from Santa Susanna to Barcelona, with stage 1 being a circuit in Santa Susanna and the final stage finishing in Barcelona — both stages that suit Vos's punchy sprint profile well.
After Catalonia, the
Tour de France Femmes is on her programme. That race begins on 1 August, in Switzerland, so the question remains whether Vos will fit in any further racing between Catalunya and the Tour. In her four appearances at the Tour de France Femmes, Vos has won the green points jersey twice and claimed three stage victories.
