Mid-June marks the season of Tour de France prep races. After the Critérium du Dauphiné, we get the Tour of Switzerland and the Baloise Belgium Tour, of which the Swiss race holds WorldTour status. IDLProCycling.com lists all the riders taking part. The big names, think Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, have opted for the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2025. That leaves an opening, as in recent years, for riders aiming for a top five or podium finish in the Tour de France. Among those heading to Switzerland: João Almeida (UAE Emirates-XRG), Geraint Thomas (INEOS Grenadiers), and Ben O’Connor (Jayco AlUla).
Before the men begin their race, the women will ride their own Tour de Suisse from Thursday through Sunday. Demi Vollering, racing for FDJ-Suez, is the biggest name on the women’s start list.
