Jasper Philipsen and Filippo Ganna are back on their bikes after crashing in the first week of the Tour de France. Philipsen crashed hard in a sprint on day 3, breaking his collarbone. Ganna was on the ground on day 1 and had to withdraw due to concussion. Two weeks later, that decision proved spot on. Philipsen was expected to be back on the rollers quickly, but we saw the Belgian from
Alpecin-Deceuninck outside again last weekend. He was still wearing a sling around his shoulder, as the fracture of his collarbone required surgery and proved to be complicated. However, Philipsen also indicated in
a press statement that he has recovered quickly from, among other things, the severe wounds on his body.
We may see the sprinter back in top form in the race this year, although he has expressed some doubts about making a second comeback so soon. After a crash in the spring, he had to recover from an injury and witnessed a stage victory and the yellow jersey being secured in the Tour. After the crash, it remains to be seen if and where we will see Philipsen in action in 2025. “The biggest goals of the season are behind me. There are still some great races coming up, but none on the same level as these. So it will be more difficult to prepare myself mentally and physically,” he said honestly.

Ganna can't remember anything about his Tour de France crash
Ganna is also back on his bike after the Italian from
INEOS Grenadiers recovered from a concussion. It was quite a nasty one, judging by the fact that, according to
La Gazzetta dello Sport, he can't remember anything about
his crash on day 1 of the Tour. “It's a bit painful in my head and neck,” said Ganna, who even tried to ride again after his crash. The focus is now primarily on the Vuelta a España, which starts in Spain at the end of August.
