Tom Pidcock is back! The British rider from Pinarello-Q36.5 had a tough few weeks following his terrifying crash in the Tour of Catalonia, but managed to win the Andorra Morabanc Clàssica on Sunday in “his” Andorra. Afterward, he expressed his (well-deserved) relief in an open and honest flash interview.

Even though it was only the second edition of the Andorran 1.1 race, Pidcock beat out quite a few big names on Sunday. The rest of the top five consisted of Carlos Verona (Lidl-Trek, second), Sepp Kuss (Visma | Lease a Bike, third), Chris Harper (Pinarello-Q36.5, fourth), and Ben Tulett (Visma | Lease a Bike, fifth).
Harper, in particular, was a huge asset to Pidcock, as the Australian set up his team leader perfectly. “Everyone was really strong today,” Pidcock said, praising his other teammates as well. “Everyone gave it 100 percent, so to be able to finish it off in the end is really great. Thanks to them. They rode all day, and everyone did their part.”

Pidcock: 'I've also had a few difficult weeks'

That teamwork was crucial. In Pidcock’s own words, it was “really not an easy victory". “I really had to work hard for it, that’s for sure. It’s great to be able to raise my hands in the air again. It was tough, because I’ve also had a few difficult weeks,” Pidcock said honestly.
That had to do with the fact that he had to bounce back from that hard crash in Catalonia, in which the Brit fell into a ravine. “It’s nice to be on the right side of the line. It’s a tough time of year, and we’ve always given it our all. That ended up causing some problems with training. It’s great to see that it’s working now.”
