With the addition of Red Bull, BORA-hansgrohe became an increasingly important player in cycling, and now the Austrian-German team is continuing to build for the future. In the winter, the team will transfer 22-year-old Adrien Boichis from the brand-new development team, following in the footsteps of Callum Thornley and Luke Tuckwell.
“After competing for the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies this season, the newly crowned U23 Mountain Bike XCC World Champion will turn professional in the WorldTeam from 2026,” the Austrian-German team announced in a
press release. The 22-year-old Frenchman joined the development team after three years with Trinity Racing.
“He has attracted attention in two disciplines this year,” his new team immediately praised him. “On the mountain bike, he became world champion in the cross-country short track a few days ago, while on the road, he proved his qualities with, among other things, the overall victory at the Istrian Spring Trophy in Croatia. Boichis is a versatile rider with great talent.”
The Frenchman is therefore delighted with his promotion. “It's very special for me to be promoted to the WorldTeam - especially after the team gave me so much support last year. I am very grateful and hope that this step will give me the chance to develop further in many areas. My goal is to continuously improve in road cycling, discover my strengths and support the team in the best possible way.”

"I'm really looking forward to riding alongside the team's stars"
In 2026, the young Boichis will be able to compete with the big boys right away. “I'm really looking forward to riding alongside the team's stars and hopefully being part of some future victories. It means just as much to me to be able to continue competing in mountain bike races in 2026 - the support of the team is just great.”
"Adrien is an exceptional athlete who has shown that he can ride at the front both in mountain biking and on the road," comments Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe CEO Ralph Denk on the signing of the contract. "As he has been riding a two-track programme this season, the step up to the WorldTour is naturally a big one. But Adrien has shown that he can take on big challenges - and continue to grow. Our programme paves the way for precisely such career steps from the rookies to the pros.“
This is already the sixth ”acquisition" by Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe for 2026. As mentioned earlier, Thornley and Tuckwell are also being transferred to the A team, while the team naturally made the biggest splash this winter with Remco Evenepoel. Mattia Cattaneo (Soudal Quick-Step) and Gianni Vermeersch (Alpecin-Deceuninck) have also been signed.
