After nine grueling and, above all, sweltering days, the Tour de France riders can enjoy a well-deserved rest day. As it happens, they’re staying in the Massif Central region, where (good) hotels are relatively scarce. Yellow jersey wearer Tadej Pogačar (UAE Emirates-XRG), among others, is finding this out first hand.

Pogačar and his teammates are staying at a hotel where the air conditioning has stopped working. It’s not just the riders from UAE Emirates-XRG who are once again facing the complications of the Tour de France. Uno-X rider Anders Halland Johannessen watched the videos of Pogačar and his teammates and then shared videos of the hotel where they’re staying.
"It could be worse—this is our hotel," the Norwegian says with a wry smile as he shows his series of videos. Incidentally, the hotels for the Tour de France aren’t booked by the teams themselves, but by A.S.O. So the riders and teams are dependent on the hotels assigned to them for each night.
