Unibet Rose Rockets, Bas Tietema’s team, has kept a low profile on the transfer market so far. At least to the outside world—because behind the scenes, the transfer merry-go-round is still in full swing. Tietema confirmed to Sporza that there has also been contact with Primož Roglič who has been linked to various teams for months. Read more below the photo!
Rockets has apparently been in contact with Roglič
Team must establish if Roglič is a realistic option in this transfer window
"We'd actually been in touch with Primož a few times in the past because of our videos," said Tietema. "And when he took a hard fall during the Vuelta, we were in touch again. He was really struggling at the time."
"I think he's a great rider for almost any team. But we just have to see if Roglič is a realistic option for us. And I think he still has to decide whether he'll continue racing at all," said Tietema.
Roglič is also being linked to teams such as Tudor, Pinarello-Q36.5, XDS-Astana, Lotto-Intermarché, and Visma | Lease a Bike. The Slovenian, who is about to turn 37, will have to make a decision soon. Roglič, who has enjoyed a successful career, recently became the European time trial champion.

What else can we expect from Rockets?
"There are still a number of riders who will be extending their contracts. We’re also looking at how we can put together the strongest possible team for next year," says Tietema, who announced on Friday that Niklas Larsen will be staying. "There are also still a number of riders on the market without contracts, but we don’t want to make any hasty decisions."
A potential signing of Roglič could also be another step toward the
Tour de France for Tietema. The team appears to be in a running competition with Burgos-BH for that spot. “Of course, it’s hard to compare teams. Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to go to the Tour. We’re just focusing on our own game and trying to be the best team we can be.”
