Uno-X will enter the WorldTour next cycling season, but without the experience of Amund Grondahl Jansen. In a post on Instagram, the Scandinavian team said goodbye to four departing riders, including the 31-year-old who caused a sensation at Jumbo-Visma between 2017 and 2020.
Grondahl Jansen was an essential part of the Jumbo-Visma team and Dylan Groenewegen in the Tour de France in 2018, 2019, and 2020. It was also allowed to make the switch to Jayco with the Dutchman for 2021, but injuries set him back considerably in that team. Elmar Reinders has since taken over his position in Groenewegen's train.
In early 2024, Grondahl Jansen told
IDLProCycling.com about his narrowed groin arteries. “Over the past 365 days, I've been on the operating table four times, so that's been a lot of misery. I had this injury on both legs. It just feels bad. It feels like my legs can't pedal anymore after a certain amount of effort or time on the bike.”

Grondahl Jansen also hindered by injuries at Uno-X
At the end of last year, Uno-X threw him a lifeline, but after a year without too many races, it's coming to an end for the Norwegian living in Andorra. “Amund has shown sharp tactical insight and cycling intelligence, although injuries and bad luck hampered him. We hope to see you back at your best, Amund,” said the team.
In addition to Grondahl Jansen, Alexander Kristoff (“icon of Norwegian cycling”), Manus Kulset (“selfless teammate”), and Rasmus Bogh Wallin (“impressive lead-out”) are also leaving Uno-X, according to the message
the team posted on social media.
