Uno-X Mobility celebrated its promotion to the WorldTour in style over the past few weeks. The Norwegian team secured its place at the highest level after winning the season finale of the Veneto Classic. However, the celebrations were short-lived. Simon Dalby, who joined the elite team this year, faced a serious medical situation.
The 22-year-old Dane suffered two blood clots in his brain last week. “Last week, Simon Dalby suffered two blood clots in his brain,” Uno-X Mobility said in a statement on
social media. "Thanks to the quick response of his parents and the excellent care at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup, he is now experiencing only mild symptoms and is undergoing specialist rehabilitation.“
This has prevented a disaster so far. A blood clot in the brain can lead to a stroke, which can have permanent consequences. However, the danger has not been completely eliminated. ”Additional tests are being conducted to determine the exact cause, after which a plan will be put in place to help prevent it from happening again."

Dalby one of Denmark's greatest climbing talents
Dalby is considered a great Danish talent. He has been a member of the Uno-X development team since 2022, where he has achieved strong results in U23 races and smaller events, including the Tour de l'Avenir (sixth in 2024) and the Tour of Antalya (fifth in 2024). This earned him a place in the elite team for 2025.
There, he finished 10th in the Tour of Oman and 18th in the Tour of Langkawi, among other results. He also finished second in the prestigious Grand Prix Jeseníky U23 race. Dalby has a contract with the Norwegian team until 2026, where he will make his WorldTour debut next year, provided his recovery goes well.
