Pauline, who also announced on Tuesday that she will be competing in the World Cycling Championships in Rwanda after all, posted a photo on social media a few days ago showing her eating healthy chocolate mousse. “We know you're eating,” someone responded.

Ferrand-Prévot posted a screenshot of this in her story. “What if we stopped doing this?” she asked herself candidly. “Guys, I’m 33 years old. I know what I’m doing,” said the Frenchwoman.

She also said that she now takes potential comments into account. “For the people who have always followed me: I used to post what I ate quite intuitively. But I admit that since this ‘controversy’, I think twice before doing so, and that's not normal.”
