The selection of Soudal Quick-Step for the 2026 cycling season is complete. The team announced this on Monday with the incoming transfer of Filippo Zana. This means that the Belgian team now knows which riders it will have for the first year of the post-Remco Evenepoel era.
The Italian, born in Thiene, made his breakthrough at Bardiani. Riding for the Italian team, he became national road champion in 2022, laying the foundation for a transfer to Jayco AlUla later that year. He quickly made his mark for the Australian team, winning the eighteenth stage of the 2023 Giro d'Italia. Later that year, he also won the overall classification of the Tour of Slovenia.
“I see my move to Soudal Quick-Step as a fresh and beautiful challenge; one I’m really looking forward to,” said Zana, who is embarking on a new adventure after three years with Jayco AlUla. “It’s a squad with an incredible history, and it motivates me to be part of it for the next two years.”
“I hope to grow and bring some nice victories, but I’m also determined to work together with my teammates for our goals and show why this team is one of the best in the world,” he added, revealing the role he will play from next year.

"Filippo is someone who will strengthen our squad in stage races, but also in the hilly one-day races"

Soudal Quick-Step CEO Jurgen Foré announced his signing as follows: "Filippo is someone who will strengthen our squad in stage races, but also in the hilly one-day races, where he has shown himself many times. From the talks that we had, we discovered he is very motivated to further develop and bring his contribution to the team’s success, and this makes us confident and excited for the next two seasons."
With Zana, Soudal Quick-Step now has thirty riders for next year, meaning the Belgian team is now full. The team had to compensate for Evenepoel's departure, but did so by significantly strengthening its classic core. It attracted Jasper Stuyven (Lidl-Trek), Dylan van Baarle (Visma | Lease a Bike), Edward Planckaert (Alpecin-Deceuninck), and Fabio van den Bossche (Alpecin-Deceuninck), among others. Steff Cras (TotalEnergies) and Alberto Dainese (Tudor) are also new additions from outside the team, while Jonathan Vervenne was transferred from the development team.
