There will be plenty of FIFA World Cup action in the United States, Canada and Mexico over the coming weeks, but there is another major sporting adventure unfolding across North America as well: the Tour Divide of Laurens ten Dam. The Dutchman starts his 4,500-kilometer challenge on Friday, riding from Banff, near the Canadian border, all the way towards the Mexican border. Just before the start, Ten Dam shares a final update.

“Yo everyone. I’m starting the Tour Divide in an hour. To save time and keep things calm, I’m deleting the Instagram app from my phone right away,” said Ten Dam, who recorded a preview podcast last week and showed his equipment on the eve of the race.

That means Ten Dam will not have Instagram on his phone for the next two weeks. Still, together with his Live Slow, Ride Fast colleagues, he has made sure that his adventure can be followed closely from a distance.

How can I follow Laurens ten Dam's Tour Divide?

Ten Dam starts his Tour Divide on Friday. The race, which is expected to last around two weeks, will obviously not be broadcast live on television. However, through so-called dot-watching, fans can see where Ten Dam and all the other participants are located during the event. That tracker can be followed via lsrf.cc.
There will also be daily updates and reels on the Instagram page of Ten Dam’s brand, @liveslowridefastltd. Ten Dam himself will also record short videos during the ride. That raw footage can be watched by members of Ten Dam and co’s Klak Af community.
Good luck, Laurens!
