Paul Seixas’s future has been a hot topic for some time now. The Frenchman’s contract with Decathlon CMA CGM still has a year to run, but several teams are already trying to court him for 2028. According to the rumour mill, Visma | Lease a Bike is on standby, and Seixas responded to that on Monday on RMC. Read more below the photo!

Visma would like to sign 'next big thing' Seixas
Just days after

the next big thing: Seixas. However, his current team is also still very much in the running: last week, they introduced three support riders—Ben O’Connor, Pavel Sivakov, and Laurens De Plus.
"I haven't made a decision yet," Seixas clarifies. "So far in my young career, I've mostly been signing contracts. They told me to sign a new one as soon as I performed well. But when I signed my current contract two years ago, I promised myself I wouldn’t rush into signing a new one. Because that bores me,” he laughs.
"I'm on vacation right now, so I'm not thinking about it too much," continues the winner of the Tour of Lombardy. “Although I’ll have to make a decision soon, I haven’t made it yet. I don’t know when I’ll make it. I think there will come a moment when I’ll just have a feeling and know it’s the right decision.”
Seixas feels the pressure of his choice
"I think it's a good thing that we haven't made a decision yet. When you look at how the Decathlon CMA-CGM team has developed, it's clear that a year ago we were talking about a completely different team. We now have a better idea of what it’s becoming,” he says, praising his current team.

At the same time, Seixas is feeling the pressure of his decision. “It’s going to get more and more stressful,” he predicts. “I can’t make a last-minute decision either. But maybe I’ll start the season without making an announcement—I don’t know yet. And I think there will come a time when I’ll want to step back from all of this. I’m waiting for the right moment.”
According to RMC, a move to UAE Emirates-XRG has become less likely following Isaac del Toro's contract extension. If Seixas were to transfer to another team, Visma would be the most logical option.
