Stephen Williams

Stephen Williams, a Welsh cyclist born on June 6, 1996, competes with UCI ProTeam Israel–Premier Tech. His professional achievements are highlighted by overall victories at the 2021 CRO Race, 2023 Arctic Race of Norway, and 2024 Tour Down Under, in addition to winning a stage at the 2022 Tour de Suisse.

Williams transitioned to professional cycling with Bahrain–Merida in 2018 after developing his skills with JLT–Condor and SEG Racing Academy. His career faced a challenging period when he underwent surgery in November 2019 to address a knee issue, pausing his competition schedule for 18 months. He later joined Israel–Premier Tech in 2023 following the dissolution of B&B Hotels–KTM.

His notable early career victory was at the 2018 Ronde de l'Isard, leading to his first pro win during stage five of the 2021 CRO Race, eventually securing the general classification. In 2022, he achieved a milestone by winning stage one of the Tour de Suisse. Williams continued to excel with a victory in the 2023 Arctic Race of Norway and secured the overall title at the 2024 Tour Down Under after capturing the race leader’s jersey in stage five and winning the final stage. His Grand Tour experiences include participating in the 2020 Vuelta a España and the 2023 Giro d'Italia, where he completed the race with a notable sprint in the final stage in Rome.
