The UAE Tour, established in 2019, marks the first WorldTour event of the cycling season and is the only WorldTour race in the Middle East. This relatively new addition to the professional cycling calendar emerged from the merging of the Abu Dhabi Tour and the Dubai Tour. The race spans seven days, showcasing the diverse landscapes of the United Arab Emirates, from the skyscraper-studded skyline of Dubai to the stunning mountains of Jebel Hafeet and Jebel Jais. The UAE Tour attracts a high-caliber field of cyclists, including some of the best sprinters and climbers in the sport, due to its mix of flat stages suited for sprint finishes and grueling mountainous stages that challenge even the most seasoned climbers.
