- Bit harsh on Rogla in the write-up. Eighth on a dragstrip TT when your Tour de France is the real target isn’t “a disappointment,” it’s pragmatic. Also, the margin listed as30 and then31 at the end—pick one, please.

- Class from Tadej again, but fair play to Mathieu. For a classics monster to hold off pure TT guys that long on a flat course is mad. Surprised Roglič lost that chunk; maybe saving legs for the high mountains? Or bike position not dialled compared to UAE’s wind-tunnel gains.

- I’m new to cycling—how can someone win by30 seconds over such a long time trial? Do they all start one at a time? Also why was Van der Poel in a “hot seat”—is that like provisional 1st place?

- What a nail-biter. Pogačar pips MVDP by three-tenths over7 km… that’s basically one missed gear change. UAE-XRG absolutely bossed the TT setup today; Wellens and Politt laying the groundwork was telling. Huge ride by Vacek too, quietly impressive.

- Slightly sceptical: if he’d positioned better before the flamme rouge, he’s on the podium. Saying “wouldn’t have changed the win” sounds a bit like hedging. Still, signs are promising for the rest of Suisse and towards the Tour.

- Feels like classic post-camp legs for Mathieu—dead the first couple days, then suddenly lively. He chose not to force the break when teams marked him, which was smart. World’s best puncheur doesn’t need to waste matches on a doomed move.

- Not sure the piece gives enough credit to Narváez’s engine. UAE Emirates-XRG? Think he’s actually Ineos these days. Either way, that late move was class, and Cort’s sprint for third was textbook draft timing.

- Great to see MvdP trending upward. Fifth after getting boxed in isn’t bad, especially with Narváez and Meurisse up the road. Heat clearly affected him early, but once it cooled he looked far more comfy on those opening climbs.
