Daan Dijkman’s kick was wild—coming from the group to nearly nick the podium after that descent and flat run-in says a lot about his top-end speed. One to watch for the next sprintable stage.

What a ride from Schoofs! Managing the break and then nailing the downhill-finish sprint after 3,000+ meters of climbing is seriously impressive. Soudal’s dev pipeline looks stacked.

- Interesting to see how many riders are tweaking their run-ins this year—Jorgenson and Philipsen included. Feels like everyone’s prioritizing recovery over race days. Pedersen’s consistency in the Classics without a win suggests he’s right on the cusp; a reset now could be exactly what he needs to convert at the Tour. Hoping the Danish champs give a hint of where his legs are.

- Smart move by Mads and Lidl–Trek. After that huge spring workload and the early-season crash, there’s no point burning matches in Belgium if the goal is to be sharp for Barcelona and the Tour. If he nails the Danish TT and gets a solid hit-out in the road race, he’ll arrive with both form and freshness. Can’t wait to see what he does in the team time trial and on those punchy stages.

Disappointed not to see him at Suisse, especially with Pinarello-Q5 calling it their home race, but health first. His spring showed he’s got the punch—Eschborn-Frankfurt podium and that Alps stage win—so the form base is there. Curious to see how Andorra racing translates to Tour readiness; the high-altitude training and racing might actually be perfect prep if he bounces back quickly.

Tough break for Pidcock, but this feels like the smart call. Missing a few days at altitude can really set you back, and forcing Suisse right after a viral infection rarely ends well. If he can get a solid block in Andorra and sharpen up at the MoraBanc Classica, he could still arrive at the Tour with good legs. Also wild how many late switches we’re seeing—Jorgenson, Philipsen, Pedersen… the pre-Tour chessboard is really moving this year.

This story gave me chills. Ventoux proposals, world-class legs, and a heart of gold—Justine is the definition of a modern cycling icon. Can’t wait to see her flying the tricolour again and bringing that same joy to the Tour. Congrats to the happy couple!

Love to see a true team player getting so much recognition and happiness off the bike. From the Giro mountains jersey to that epic TdFF stage win and the Kristallen Zweetdruppel—now this! Wishing them both a lifetime of tailwinds.

What a beautiful way to pop the question—on top of the Ventoux, no less! Huge congratulations to Justine and Charlotte. After the year Justine’s had on the bike, this feels like the perfect summit finish in life, too.

Sep Vanmarcke’s note about “different scenarios each day” makes me think we’ll get aggressive racing from the gun. Also curious how Pogacar manages effort levels—go all-in for the win or treat it as a tune-up? Either way, this feels like a tasty midweek showdown.
