2026 Women’s World Time Trial Championships start list | Vollering and Reusser will start, but Van der Breggen won't

The 2026 World Cycling Championships in Montreal, Canada, kick off on Sunday with the women’s elite time trial. Marlen Reusser will be there as the defending champion, but only one of the other medal winners from last year’s event in Rwanda will line up in Canada to challenge her. Demi Vollering has been picked to lead the Dutch team, but Anna van der Breggen has been left at home. IDL Pro Cycling lists all the competitors below!

All countries have now had to submit their preliminary start lists to the UCI, but many cycling federations have also already officially announced their participants. For example, we already know that Anna van der Breggen, who finished second behind Reusser last year, will not be traveling to Canada because she is not in top form.

Reusser is once again the top favourite, but with Demi Vollering—who finished third in 2025—and Lieke Nooijen, the Netherlands once again has two contenders for a medal. The start list also includes Zoe Backstedt, Antonia Niedermaier, Elisa Longo Borghini, Kristen Faulkner, and Lotte Kopecky, among others.
