Aart Vierhouten will become a team leader at Bahrain Victorious. The 54-year-old Dutchman, who spent last season in the car for the ambitious Swiss Team Q36.5 Pro Cycling, will lend his services to a team that includes Pello Bilbao and, from 2025 onwards, Lenny Martinez. It’s a great step for a man who previously also worked for UAE Team Emirates.

In a press release shared by the team on X on Monday evening, the Dutch selector expressed his satisfaction with his new role. He praised the team and believes that next year will bring many opportunities for the team in white. "I am really looking forward to sharing my knowledge, experience and energy to support the team’s goals in and outside the races."

Vierhouten gets a step up to the WorldTour: "Bahrain Victorious is headed for an incredible 2025"

Vierhouten also addressed the team, where he will work with great talents like Matej Mohoric, Antonio Tiberi, Bilbao, Martinez and Damiano Caruso, among others. "With a mix of young, promising, and more experienced riders, Bahrain Victorious has an amazing roster for the 2025 season." This is certainly the hope for the team from the oil-rich country, as their performance in 2024 was somewhat below expectations.

Bilbao, in particular, had a tough season and, after his strong Tour de France performance in 2023, would have hoped for more. Mohoric also achieved significantly fewer successes than in previous years. Tiberi finished in the top five in the Giro but was simply exhausted in the Vuelta. The Italian will aim to take another step forward in 2025. The arrival of Martinez is a big boost for the team. With the young Frenchman, they have a new climbing talent with immense growth potential.
