Cofidis rider Stanislaw Aniolkowski is sidelined for the foreseeable future following a crash in the
Brussels Cycling Classic. The Pole provided a medical update via
his social media, after his team had already communicated the consequences of the fall.
"The medical report is unfortunately serious for Stan Aniolkowski," said
Cofidis. "He has a fracture in his right radius, a broken left collarbone, and presumably also a fracture in his left wrist."
The sprinter finished sixth in the
Heistse Pijl the day before, while fellow sprinter Milan Fretin finished second behind Jordi Meeus in Brussels.
Aniolkowski has already undergone surgery
'The operation is already behind us,' the Pole himself announced. 'It could always have been worse. Thanks for all the messages and for all your support, and a big thank you to Team Cofidis for their support and for everything they did to ensure I received the best care.'
'Thanks to the Cofidis team, the medical team, the management, and all the riders,' he repeats. 'And thanks to the clinic in Herentals and Dr. Tom Claes for the successful operation,' he concluded.
