Tadej Pogačar once again produced something extraordinary on Saturday at Strade Bianche. The Slovenian rider of UAE Team Emirates-XRG made it look easy once more on Tuscany’s white roads, but his body still had plenty of recovering to do on Sunday. That is clear from the data published by sponsor Whoop, which Pogačar also reacted to himself. From Friday into Saturday, Pogačar recorded a sleep score of 97 per cent, while his recovery ahead of Strade Bianche stood at 93 per cent, according to Whoop. During his attack in Strade Bianche, the Slovenian hit a maximum heart rate of 198 beats per minute, which is close to — or possibly right at — his ceiling.
Earlier, Velon had already offered a glimpse into the power numbers Pogačar produced during his solo ride towards Siena. Where he averaged 340 watts over the final 80 kilometres in his winning move of 2024, he now managed 380 watts over that same closing stretch. It earned him, among other things, KOMs on Monte Sante Marie and the finishing circuit. For extra context on those numbers, see IDL Procycling’s earlier piece:
Pogačar’s Strava numbers and power data strike fear, but Seixas also enters alien territory.

Pogačar posted a recovery score of 49%
Pogačar himself responded the following day to the data published by
Whoop on Instagram. “Please don’t post my Sunday data…” the Slovenian wrote, before effectively revealing it himself anyway. His recovery score, based on HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate and sleep quality, stood at 49 per cent on Sunday morning. The original Dutch article attributes that quote to Whoop’s Instagram post about his Strade Bianche metrics, though the Instagram page itself was not directly retrievable through the browser tool.
So yes, even Pogačar was feeling it, judging by the figures from the American company also used by riders and athletes such as Mathieu van der Poel, Carlos Alcaraz and Cristiano Ronaldo. Pogačar wears the device under his right arm, as shown in the image referenced in the original piece.
