It's no secret that Isaac Del Toro is a talented cyclist. The UAE Emirates-XRG rider won two stages and the overall classification in his first year as a professional, and he is already on fire in 2025. His recent string of results is particularly impressive: the Mexican won five races in his last eight days of competition.
“I would like to be optimistic and say that everything is perfect, but anything can happen in this sport. What I am experiencing this year is unreal,” said Del Toro after his latest race victory, the Circuito de Getxo. "I just want to enjoy it. I'm pleased with how things are going and especially with the team's support. I feel supported and proud. And of course, there's so much encouragement from the fans. So no, I don't want to create unrealistic expectations. I just want to keep enjoying it."
The day before the Circuito de Getxo on Sunday, Del Toro was the big favorite to win in San Sebastian, but UAE Emirates-XRG did not get the victory handed to them on a silver platter, despite having numerical superiority in the final. “After yesterday's tough day in San Sebastián, I have regained the good form I had in recent weeks,” Del Toro said after the race. "Yesterday went really well, and today the team and the guys put up a fantastic fight. I'm really proud to be part of this group."

Del Toro is particularly fond of racing in the Basque Country: "Racing here is always incredible"

In the Circuito de Getxo, UAE once again showed that it has the strongest riders in the peloton. Ayuso set up a perfect lead-out for Del Toro on the climb, who went on to win the race solo. Ayuso finished second. “Thanks to my teammates, Juan and I were able to fight for the win again and try to take first and second place. It was a fantastic day for us. We struggled with the heat and the level of the race, but we had fun and fought until the end.”
Finally, Del Toro expressed his gratitude for racing on Spanish soil, particularly in the Basque Country, where he’s been competing in a series of demanding one-day races: “Honestly, I’ve had a great time. Racing here is always incredible. I don’t know—there’s just something really special about being here,” concluded the multiple winner.
