Not long after the Tour de France, the WorldTour peloton quickly shifts its focus to the next set of races. One of those is the Tour of Poland, which marks the starting point of the final part of the 2025 season for many riders. In de Leiderstrui takes a closer look! In 2024, overall victory in the Tour of Poland went to Jonas Vingegaard, who won’t be returning this year after racing the Tour de France. Favorites final classification Tour of Poland 2025
The organizers have once again put together a varied route, meaning, as in recent editions, we can expect a wide range of rider types to be in contention. To win this WorldTour race, you need to be able to punch, climb, and time trial. It’s a race for true all-rounders.
And as luck would have it, quite a few of them are on the start list, although form is hard to gauge, since many riders are coming off a break without recent race days. One thing we can count on? A strong UAE Team Emirates–XRG lineup. No marquee names this time, but still a powerful roster featuring Brandon McNulty, Jan Christen, Florian Vermeersch, Filippo Baroncini, and Polish hometown favorite Rafal Majka.
Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe will field Finn Fisher-Black and Daniel Felipe Martinez, while INEOS Grenadiers will opt for the tandem Magnus Sheffield-Michal Kwiatkowski. Bahrain Victorious will in turn bring Pello Bilbao and Antonio Tiberi to the start, and Lidl-Trek (Mathias Vacek and Andrea Bagioli) and XDS-Astana (Diego Ulissi and Alberto Bettiol) may also be betting on several horses.
Visma | Lease a Bike isn’t bringing a general classification rider to the start, but keep an eye on Matthew Brennan, he might surprise us yet again on the climbs. Picnic PostNL, on the other hand, does bring a serious podium contender in Max Poole. And finally, let’s not forget the time trial specialists: Stefan Küng (Groupama–FDJ) and former winner Ethan Hayter (Soudal Quick-Step), both will need to limit their losses before the final stage if they want to make an impact.
