Great news for BORA-hansgrohe's GC ambitions: Giro winner Jai Hindley extends contract

Jai Hindley has renewed his contract with BORA-hansgrohe. The Australian climber, who won the Giro in 2022 for the German team, will remain with BORA beyond 2024. This was announced by the team in a press release. It is not yet clear how long Hindley has re-signed with Ralph Denk’s team.

For Hindley—who had long been rumored to likely stay with his current employer—the choice was, by his own admission, not a difficult one. "I am very happy to continue with BORA – hansgrohe. I greatly appreciate the trust and opportunities the team has given me so far, and everything they have done for me. They have played a big role in my career and development. It has truly become a second family to me and I feel at home here."

Hindley will be a domestique for Roglic in Tour, but will also be a leader himself again in grand tours

"I can’t wait to continue growing and developing, and to keep focusing on the grand tours in the future, something that has always been important to me," Hindley continues. "We share the same vision and I am grateful for the trust they have placed in me to achieve this. I can’t wait to continue my journey here." Hindley will start the Tour as the chief domestique for Primoz Roglic.

Team manager Ralph Denk is also pleased. The German is happy to have secured both Hindley and the rising climbing talent Florian Lipowitz early. "I am very pleased that we have been able to retain Jai and Florian early on. Both are great talents and both play an important role in our long-term plans for stage races. With Jai, we celebrated the biggest grand tour success of the team – his abilities are evident. We know Florian’s potential and want to develop this together step by step."
