The road season has been over for a while now, so it's time for riders to take a well-deserved vacation. Or at least, for most. Indeed, a number ventured into various sporting challenges, some much crazier than others. Veloncc rounded up a number of outings, from Ben Swift to Demi Vollering and from Matteo Jorgenson to Oscar Onley.
While many did an activity on the bike, for Swift it was time to get the running shoes on. The Brit competed in the Rother Valley parkrun and did it pretty fast: he did the five kilometers in just 16 minutes and 23 seconds. Converted, that's 3 minutes and 16 seconds per kilometer. Fast!

Double also gets his running shoes on

Paul Double also ventured into running and also did a five-kilometer run. In Girona, Spain, the Englishman ran it in 16 minutes and 54 seconds. Just a little slower than Swift, but with an average pace of 3.22 minutes per kilometer, that can also be called pretty fast.

Vermeersch is bikepacking in Vietnam

For Florian Vermeersch, a trip to Vietnam was in the cards this offseason. The Belgian, who became world gravel champion this year, went on a bikepacking adventure there. He keeps his Strava followers informed about it, which delivers great pictures. Vermeersch covered no less than 262 kilometers on day two and did so in ten and a half hours. Damn!

Not a lot of rest for Onley down under

For Onley, the trip was even longer than for Vermeersch, as the Scot flew to Australia. There, the number four of this year's Tour de France is definitely not having a lazy holiday, as evidenced by his various cycling, running and mountain biking activities. Just this Wednesday, for example, another MTB ride showed up on his Strava. 'Getting confident, probably time to stop,' the caption read.

Benoot and Jorgenson seek the mountains

For Visma Lease a Bike stars Tiesj Benoot and Jorgenson, this offseason is also about staying active. The Belgian ventured on a trail run in Funchal, Portugal, while the American, on the other hand, sought out the French Alps. There he completed a hike of just under 11 kilometers, which took him just over three hours. Meanwhile, as evidenced by his many bike rides in and around his hometown of Nice, Jorgenson is already in training for 2026.

Also De Lie (who is in Morocco), Vollering and McNulty also on foot

Finally, more runners and trail runners could be found in the pack. For example, Vollering ran fourteen kilometers in an hour and a half in her own country, Arnaud De Lie completed a twelve-kilometer trail run in Morocco (in addition to a lot of tennis, running, ping pong and jet skiing activities) and Brandon McNulty ventured a hike of over thirteen kilometers in his own country, which took him just under three hours. Great activities and so the pack is certainly not just resting!
