Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe will definitively line up without four-time winner Primoz Roglic for the upcoming Vuelta a España. Instead, the German team will back Jai Hindley for a strong GC result, but more than anything, they aim to seize the opportunities that arise over the course of the three-week race. Tim van Dijke is also on the start list.
"The team will be led by Jai Hindley, winner of the 2022 Giro d’Italia," the team wrote in its press release. "At the same time, we’re heading to Spain with a balanced lineup that’s not only built to support Hindley in the general classification, but also to race aggressively and go after stage wins throughout the three weeks."
"Giulio Pellizzari will start his second grand tour of the season after impressing in his Giro debut. The 21-year-old Italian is eager to take the next step in his development during the Spanish grand tour and learn from the experience of his Australian teammate," added the team, led by Ralph Denk.

Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe sets no expectations for Hindley ahead of Vuelta

Sports director Patxi Vila outlines the team’s approach. “Jai is definitely our GC leader within a very balanced team. We’ll be competitive, race aggressively, and support Jai, but we’ll also aim for stage wins. That’s an important goal for us too,” said the Spaniard.
“Jai is our leader, but with such a well-rounded team, we can play a key role in various stages and go for victories,” Vila added. He’s not placing any clear expectations on Hindley. “While it’s not easy to set specific goals for Jai right now, he is a grand tour winner who has already proven he has the legs to win a three-week race.”
In addition to Hindley, Pellizzari, and Van Dijke, the Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe roster includes Nico Denz, Giovanni Aleotti, Finn Fisher-Black, Matteo Sobrero, and Jonas Koch.
