Unibet Rose Rockets have made a new move shortly after announcing their new cycling sponsor, Rose. The French-Dutch team led by Bas Tietema has signed Jannis Peter, who is unknown to the general public. But anyone looking at the results of the 24-year-old German can see the potential of this young climber. Peter started his career in 2019 with Continental Heizomat Rad-Net. His development there was not very fast, but it was steady. With places of honor in smaller German, French, and Austrian races and the national title in the U23 category, the climber managed to secure a place with Team Vorarlberg. This year, he really showed what is possible in the future.
He won a stage in the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt and finished second in the general classification. He also finished an impressive ninth in the Tour of Austria, but the highlight of his year came in the
Tour of the Czech Republic. In the final stage, he beat Cian Uijtdebroeks and Junior Lecerf, among others, to claim his first professional victory.

Peter strengthens climbing team for two years
It is therefore not surprising that Peter caught the attention of several professional teams. In the end, Unibet Rose Rockets came out on top. The ProTour team has signed the German for two seasons. “I can't wait to ride with the Rockets for the next two years,” said the rider in the always playful
announcement video of his new team.
After Dylan Groenewegen, Elmar Reinders, Niklas Larsen, and Matyas Kopecky, Peter is the fifth addition to the Rockets. He is also the first German in the team. With Peter's arrival, the team has significantly strengthened its climbing squad. Another top rider may be joining them: earlier this week, Wout Poels was linked to Bas Tietema's team.
