Mathieu van der Poel concluded his season less than a week ago with a disappointing performance at the World Championship in mountain biking, but he will quickly switch gears. The cyclo-cross season is just around the corner! Before the Alpecin-Deceuninck rider starts thinking about that, it was time for something else. As an ambassador, he got to unveil a wonderful gift! It's no secret that Van der Poel is an ambassador for Lamborghini. He can often be spotted in the Italian supercar manufacturer's cars: last winter, for example, he was
racing through the snow in Italy, where several cars were waiting for him. And
in Hoogerheide, he arrived at last year's cyclo-cross race in a special ‘MVDP’ Lambo, with his initials on the license plate.
So the world cyclo-cross champion does like fast cars. But in addition to a partnership with Lamborghini, he also has a deal with FLYINGGROUP, a Belgian private aviation company. They take care of his travel by jet when necessary, such as to
Besançon last December. Now, extraordinary circumstances brought the two companies together, allowing Van der Poel to enjoy a magnificent gift.

Van der Poel receives a 250,000 euros Lambo as a gift
Van der Poel's impressive season was honored at Antwerp Airport, in the FLYINGGROUP hangar, as can be seen on
Instagram. The Dutchman, together with his girlfriend, Roxanne Bertels, was welcomed into the hangar, where a brand-new Lamborghini Urus SE was waiting for him—a wonderful gift, which he was allowed to unveil. For enthusiasts: it is a car worth over 250,000 euros, with no less than 800 hp...
This car also had his initials on the license plates. After the disappointment of the World Championships, it is a well-deserved reward for his season. Because let's be honest, no one else managed to finish in 29th place. Six victories, including Paris-Roubaix and Milan-Sanremo, along with a stage win in the Tour de France: it was another phenomenal year for the 30-year-old superstar. When he will return to the field to perform at his best is still unknown.
