On Sunday evening, Visma | Lease a Bike organized a celebration in front of their hotel, one that the Vuelta a España hadn’t been able to hold due to the chaos in Madrid. Jonas Vingegaard was put in the spotlight, along with all the other classification winners and of course João Almeida and Tom Pidcock on the final podium. Through its official channels, Visma also shared a separate tribute to its leader. “Hats off to this fighter, Jonas Vingegaard,” the message began, which could rightfully be called a book in itself. The team wanted to say a few things to their Danish leader, who with the Vuelta secured the third grand tour victory of his career. In 2022 and 2023 he had already won the Tour de France overall. Only the Giro d’Italia remains…
“Sometimes numbers and victories don’t tell the whole story,” Visma | Lease a Bike emphasized. “Sometimes it’s about the journey, the moments when no one is watching, the days far from home, away from everything familiar, alone with your bike and your willpower. Visma | Lease a Bike highlights the road Vingegaard has traveled
Vingegaard is called “a champion in everything he does,” because after his second places in the Tour de France of 2024 and 2025 and his Vuelta victory, it’s easy to forget that the climber lay badly injured in a ditch in the Basque Country in April last year. “529 days ago,” the Visma admin calculated Sunday night.
“Days full of recovery, full of training, full of trying and getting back up again. Twice he has already fought like a lion in the Tour de France, giving everything he had, falling and rising each time. But today, we see the true result of all that quiet, relentless struggle: a rider back on the top step of the podium, more determined than ever."

“This Vuelta is more than a victory,” writes Visma | Lease a Bike
According to Visma | Lease a Bike, a third grand tour on the palmarès goes beyond just another trophy. “This Vuelta is more than a victory. It is a story of resilience, of never giving up, of the ability to keep believing in yourself even when times are tough. For three weeks, he showed what it means to be a leader, for himself and for his team.”
“A memorable Vuelta in many ways, but one that no one can ever take away from Jonas. 💯 Winning never gets easy. Every victory must be earned again. And this one, Jonas, is magnificent. Because of your talent, because of your team, but above all because of you: your perseverance, your focus, and your heart.”
“Today, we celebrate more than a jersey or a podium. We celebrate a champion who shows what it means to fight, to grow, and to triumph, even when the path is hard. Congratulations, Jonas. You are the more than deserved winner of the 2025 Vuelta a España.”
