Vos ecstatic after victory on debut in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad: "Hadn't dared to dream of this beforehand"

The cunning Marianne Vos won the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on her debut Saturday. The 36-year-old rider won a sprint of four against world champion Lotte Kopecky, Elisa Longo Borghini, and Shirin van Anrooij.

"It means a lot to me," Vos responded in the flash interview. "I couldn't have dreamed of winning the Omloop on my debut. It's incredible to start the season like this, as the race was particularly tough. In the sprint, it's always uncertain what you have left in your legs. I've been looking forward to this together with my family, and I can't describe how happy I am. I knew Kopecky would try something on the Muur van Geraardsbergen and on the Bosberg, where I had to give it my all. She was incredibly strong, but after the Bosberg, the game started, and you hope you can still snatch the victory."
