🎥 Track-day Wout, showroom Remco: Van Aert laps a 911 GT4 while Evenepoel picks up his M5

It’s no secret that many cyclists love speed — not only on two wheels, but on four as well. Mathieu van der Poel has been spotted with his flashy Lamborghinis, and now Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel had their own automotive moments: one went all‑in on a U.S. race circuit, the other picked up a gleaming new machine at home.
Van Aert is currently in the United States, where he also met NBA legend Reggie Miller earlier in the trip. The US basketball player was taught some skills on the bike, while the Belgian was ready to throw some hoop. Afterwards, it was time for a fresh adventure at The Thermal Club Circuit, southeast of Los Angeles.
Alongside Visma | Lease a Bike rider Margeaux Vigié and downhill legend Jackson Goldstone, Van Aert got a dream chance: laps in stunning race cars, including Porsche 911 GT4s. After a tour of the facility — Ferraris, Lamborghinis and more — the trio jumped into the Porsches following a quick crash‑course. They were ready to shred some rubber!
There was the obligatory joke before rolling out — “Left is the throttle, right?”, but out on track, Van Aert wore a custom Red Bull helmet with printed names. Time for some racing! A few fast laps later, the smiles were wide, both for Van Aert and Vigié. "I want one!" yelled Vigié, while Van Aert could only mutter: "Oh my goodness..."

Evenepoel with brand new car

Where Van Aert lit up a Porsche, Evenepoel received a different treat. The Olympic champion picked up a new BMW last year — and a year on, it was time again for a brand new ride. In Tielt, the new leader of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe collected a very shiny BMW M5.
For the car nerds among us: it’s a five‑metre‑long brute weighing about 2,500 kg, packing a V8 with 725 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. It reaches 100 km/h in a mere 3.5 seconds. And the price tag? A BMW M5 starts at a meagre €160,000+...
