Youngster impressed with the Recent Bull Rookie team, is making the leap official in 2027
Putz joined Red Bull in 2025 after impressing at the continental level with the Tirol KTM Cycling Team. In his first season with Red Bull’s Rookies, he immediately made his mark by finishing in the top five several times in one-day races and placing fourth in a challenging stage of the Giro NextGen.
By 2026, he was already regularly competing with the WorldTour team, though this was often in secondary-tier races. In October, however, he did compete in the Eneco Tour. Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe has Putz help out first
Putz seems like an excellent climber with a strong finish, but in 2026 he was mainly a support rider. “I’ve already learned a lot in my two years with the Rookies. The varied programme gave me a solid foundation for the next step. It would be great if I could win a race myself someday, but I’m joining the WorldTour team as a domestique.”
At Red Bull, with
Remco Evenepoel, Jai Hindley, Giulio Pellizzari, and rising star Lorenzo Finn, there are plenty of team leaders to ride for. “I want to fulfill that role as best as I can. If I do my job well enough to make the riders and the staff happy, then I’ve achieved my goal.”
