Pidcock has been sharing his preparations for the World Championships with us on his social media channels for quite some time now. After winning the world title in mountain biking in August and immediately following that up with a victory in the GP Industria & Artigianato road race, he flew to Canada for the GP Québec and GP Montréal.
Pidcock finished fourth and sixth, confirming his strong form heading into the World Championships. After the two races in Canada, he headed to the United States to fine-tune his preparation before returning to Canada, where he hopes to contend for the rainbow jersey in the elite men’s road race.
All signs seem to be pointing in the right direction, judging by his latest Instagram post. In addition to the Mountain Bike World Championships and his road racing commitments, Pidcock—after finishing ninth in the Tour de France in July—spent most of his time in Andorra, doing all kinds of training.

Pidcock has a fight...
Preparations for the World Championships hit a bit of a snag on Saturday, as Pidcock posted a photo of his swollen lip on his Instagram Story. “I got into a fight,” he wrote jokingly alongside a selfie, in which it’s clear that a bee or wasp had stung him on the lip.
It’s not fun knowing that a sting like that can keep nagging for a while in the days that follow. Fortunately, Pidcock still has some time, since the road race won’t take place until September 27 in Montreal.
The World Championships, however, will already kick off on Sunday, September 20, with the time trials. The elite men and women will compete in a race against the clock for the first rainbow jerseys.

- I’m still learning the calendar: is cyclocross mainly preparation for the spring classics, or does he race it as a separate goal as well? I’d love to see him back in the mud.jeremya04-11-2026
- The article makes it sound as if Roubaix is the only classic where he has a realistic shot. He’s been close in Flanders too, and one good tactical day can change everything.jennifer1904-11-2026

- He’s right to be realistic about Flanders with Pogačar and Evenepoel around, but you can’t count Van Aert out on those roads. If he gets the right opportunity, he has the engine and experience to take it.davidm04-11-2026
