Remco is always more charming as a winner than as a loser, when he often pouts, whines and makes excuses.

- Question — if testers arrive and the rider is asleep, do they wait until a set window ends? How long can they knock? What counts as refusing a test? Gracias por clarificar, s’il vous plaît.

- Fair point that late-night tests aren’t “new,” but waking the yellow jersey at 5 a.m. is extreme. Do that during a one-week race maybe, not in the third week of the Tour.

- Love the firm stance on anti-doping, but the piece feels one-sided. Where’s the statement from ITA/UCI explaining why night tests are needed? Without that, it reads a bit like rider quotes vs. a strawman.

- As a reader, I’d like more detail: were these blood, urine, or biological passport controls? The type of test affects timing and intrusiveness. The article just says “visits.”

- Respect for BORA and Alpecin cooperating, but testing at 10–11 p.m. after a TT day still messes with routines. Hydration, massage, media, then testers—when do riders actually switch off?

- Sorry, does WADA actually allow tests at any hour? Or is this an ASO/organiser policy for the Tour specifically? Bit confused how the rules work across events.

- If Vingegaard got tested at 2 a.m. and then crashed the next day, are teams or the UCI tracking whether late-night tests correlate with worse performance or accidents? Feels like we’re ignoring data here.

- Van der Poel’s take is fair. Anti-doping should be rigorous, but sleep is literally performance and safety. We just saw Vinge crash out—fatigue management matters. There has to be a balance.

- Wild to hear about 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. wake-ups. I get no-notice testing, but disrupting recovery before a mountain stage seems counterproductive. Couldn’t they tighten the testing window to avoid sleep disruption and still keep it unannounced?
