Kévin Vauquelin had a fantastic year, which included a phenomenal Tour de France. The 24-year-old Frenchman has been rewarded for his season with an excellent transfer: he will leave the struggling Arkéa - B&B Hotels for INEOS Grenadiers. Vauquelin has signed a three-year contract with the British team.
Since his professional debut with Arkéa in 2022, Vauquelin has been known as a great climbing talent, with legs for the classics and time trials. In 2024, he made his first appearance at the highest level, finishing second in the Flèche Wallonne and winning a stage in the Tour de France. He followed that up with another second place in Huy, before finishing seventh in La Grande Boucle in 2025.
This made him the best French rider. “I’m extremely proud to join a team like INEOS Grenadiers which has shaped the history of cycling for over a decade - both in Grand Tours and across the calendar. I’m still in shock. I’m really excited to discover a new environment, new teammates, new equipment and a new way of working with the staff group. For me, it’s the logical next step in my career to continue my progression and explore new horizons”
The transfer is a fantastic move, but Vauquelin will never forget his old team. “Arkéa - B&B Hotels will always be important to me,” he says on the INEOS Grenadiers website. “It’s the team where I turned pro, where they trusted me and gave me responsibility. I was able to thrive and learn my job in a calm environment.”

Vauquelin wore the white jersey at the Tour de France for a long time.

Vauquelin, a popular figure in France: "I even saw my face on a hot air balloon!"

The last two Tours remain the highlights of his career. "I have participated in two Tour de France editions, and each time it was an emotional rollercoaster. In 2024, I went from a tough moment on the first stage to immense joy on the second day when I won in Bologna. This year, I knew my preparation was good, and I arrived confident. I discovered myself at every stage."
He became a popular favorite. “I never could have imagined it. On some stages, my ears were ringing from hearing my name so much. I even saw my face on a hot air balloon! At the Tour, everything is amplified and I tried to live it to the fullest while staying true to myself. It makes me proud and motivates me a lot. Thanks to everyone for this support, from the bottom of my heart.”
Dave Brailsford is delighted with his new protégé. “I’ve been excited to watch Kevin’s progress over the past couple of seasons. Not only is he a punchy rider who knows how to win, at this year’s Tour I was impressed to see him add a new dimension to his racing. He races with intelligence and ambition - qualities that fit perfectly with the Grenadiers.”

Vauquelin finished second in the Flèche Wallonne for the second year in a row.

Vauquelin leaves struggling Arkéa

Vauquelin did not race again this year after his great Tour. The day after the Tour, the Frenchman broke his tibia. He underwent surgery, but it is still unclear when he will return to action. What was immediately certain was that the 24-year-old puncheur's season was already over after the stage over Montmartre.
Vauquelin is leaving Arkéa - B&B Hotels, but he will not be the only one. The team has been seeking new sponsors throughout the year, as the two title sponsors are set to leave in 2026. That search has so far failed to be productive, and the demise of the French team is now almost inevitable.
