It’s amazing what kind of connections you can get from sponsors. We see time and again that riders can get great perks from their bike suppliers, or that they go on amazing trips thanks to their sponsors. For Remco Evenepoel, Red Bull has opened quite a few doors. For example, he was able to prepare for the World Time Trial Championships at a very special location. In Montreal, Evenepoel will attempt to become world road champion for the second time, but a week earlier, he’ll be more than eager to achieve a historic feat in
the time trial. “I’m really looking forward to it. I could become the first rider to win the world championship four times in a row. That makes it extra special, of course,” he told Red Bull.
He could also become the first rider ever to win both the world time trial championship and the world road race championship in the same year. In any case, his preparation went well, with his victory at the GP Québec. “First, my full focus is on the time trial. After that, I’ll give my body and mind a chance to relax for a bit, and then I’ll switch gears toward the road race.”

"That's something I'm good at: focusing entirely on one goal, then quickly letting it go and moving on to the next one. Fortunately, there's also some time in between to recharge."
And pressure? For the Belgian rider from Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, that’s nothing new. “Most of the pressure I feel is the pressure I put on myself. I know I can go for a fourth consecutive world title in the time trial, and I set the bar high for myself.”
Just how high the bar has been set is evident from his preparations. Before leaving for Canada, the world time trial champion stayed in Austria. Through his sponsor Red Bull, he ended up at the F1 circuit in Spielberg—also known as the Red Bull Ring—as seen on his
Instagram. There, he was able to fine-tune the details for the World Time Trial Championships in a unique way.
